  • Five Driver Design

Dual high BA drivers + Dual low BA drivers + Single mid BA driver + TAEC™ = Unmatched high fidelity reproduction.

    Machined Aluminum

Locally produced in small batches, the aluminum housing improves the sonic performance of the earphone by reducing vibrations that introduce distortion.

    Anodized Finish

Zirconium blasted aluminum shells are finished in our signature green anodizing; specially made for Andromeda.

    Hand Built – Portland OR

Hand built by expert craftspeople.  Each earphone is created individually, inspected closely and paired tightly.

    Five Driver Design

    Exceptional High Frequencies

Andromeda utilizes a unique approach to achieve its soaring high frequency response.  Our TAEC system’s high frequency extension is unattainable using conventional techniques.

Clear and refined high frequencies are produced. Superior micro detail and imaging.

    Tuned Acoustic Expansion Chamber™

Dual high frequency drivers discard a traditional ‘tube & damper’ tuning system for our new Tuned Acoustic Expansion Chamber™ (TAEC).  3-D printed chamber provides the acoustic tuning without compression.  As a result, high frequencies are extended and open, providing an unmatched sonic quality unique to Campfire Audio earphones.

    ‘Cathedral Ceiling’ Listening

It is the soundstage that will first grab you, reproduced with accuracy and clarity that can’t be found in other earphones. Stare up to the stars when listening with this uniquely designed earphone.

The result is a remarkable and unique sounding earphone with superior top-to-bottom coherence.

    Confident Companion

Andromeda exudes confidence in its handling of musical detail.  It has high frequency extension that makes cymbals sparkle and expand past your listening horizon. Mids are fully resolved and uncolored.  And the bass is extended and balanced; rich in texture and well defined.

    Fit and Finish

    Anodized Finish

Andromeda is offered in a signature green anodized finish.

    Zirconium Blast

The aluminum shells are first expertly blasted with a Zirconium material to achieve a smooth finish.  It also prepares the surface of the shells to more effectively hold the color from the anodizing process.  This way the signature green will remain eye catching for the life of the earphone.

    Custom MMCX

Our custom Beryllium Copper MMCX eliminates the traditional shortcomings of the connection and harnesses all of its benefits.

Beryllium Copper provides a robust mating mechanism that is typcially made from soft brass. This extends the life of compoent and the earphone.

The extended life of the part makes replacing or upgrading your earphone cable care free because you know this will not wear out the mating pins. The MMCX also give you the ability to spin the earphone a full 360 degrees to find the best fit for your ear.

    Compact Comfort

The ergonomic shape of the design offers an easy to wear and comfortable fit.  The hard anodized finish makes for a great looking earphone. It is durable and ready to stand up to demanding daily use. The Andromeda’s lightweight design is ideal for all day listening sessions.

A delicate beast of aural pleasureThe Andromeda is aptly named. Not just for the sheer size of the earpiece itself, but for the immensity of its sound signature and performance. What I find most appealing is the smooth delivery in the mid-range, with a cool crescendo into crisp and tingly highs. The bass is good, with a little bit of "punch". The sound that emanates into my ear canal is akin to dipping one’s eardrums into a pleasant creek on a warm spring day.
Another added bonus is the soundstage. I have never heard earbuds that sound so expansive. One of the drawbacks of IEMs over headphones is that they feel more "closed in", but these things make it sound like left/right separation is farther apart. I don't think the soundstage is a make or break thing, but wow... the Andromeda makes it feel like I'm in the MIDDLE of everything, in a whole room.
The Andromeda are amazing IEMs. Probably the best I've ever heard. Nah. They ARE the best I've heard.

    5. 4 out of 5

I have owned all of the Campfire Audio IEM's except for the Lyra and can say at the beginning of my review that the Andromeda is my favorite. To my ears, it delivers a sense of realism that I have not heard in my many previous higher end devices. It is tonally accurate and has very precise vocal and instrumental timbre. I do not notice spikes or dips at any point in the audio frequency spectrum. I find that the presentation is not "in my face' but rather I get the impression that I am seated a couple rows back in a live performance.

Build quality is absolutely stunning with the CNC-machined aluminum housing more closely resembling a piece of fine jewelry than an audio component.

The fit is excellent for me, very comfortable and once I found the tips that provided the best seal, they stay in place regardless of my activity. I am particularly impressed with the treble. While quite detailed and pristine, it is never sibilant unless the sibilance is present in the recording.

While the Andromeda performs in a stellar manner with all genre's of music I have tried, they are intolerant of shortcomings in the recorded material. They reveal exactly what is presented by the source chain and will also display differences in players or amps used upstream.

My only reason for deducting one star is that the memory wire used in the really fine supplied cable makes it rather irksome to get the phones in place while also trying to secure the memory wire over-ear as it tends to rotate in the mmcx socket during placement. I do wish the cable would be offered with the option of a non-memory wire cable.

ALO deserves much credit for bringing such a high-performance device to the crowded high end IEM market!
