Planar Magnetic IEMs & Earphones

Our planar magnetic in-ear monitors drive a single sheet-like diaphragm with a full magnetic field to move air with speed and precision. Fast transients, low distortion, and a timbre you can pick out instantly. Hand-built in Portland, Oregon.

The Technology

What Planar Magnetic Delivers

A planar magnetic driver works differently from a dynamic driver or a balanced armature, and allows for a unique combination of large diaphragm size, and lightning fast response. Conductive traces serpentine through a large, flat diaphragm, creating even movement throughout. That even drive is what gives planar its reputation for rapid attack and decay, ultra-low distortion, and a wide, spacious soundstage that gives recordings incredible depth and accuracy.

The planar sound has a distinct and unique character. Notes start and stop cleanly, textures come through with clarity, and complex passages stay separated. It is a presentation that rewards detailed recordings and revealing source gear.

Our planar range spans full-range single-driver designs, planar hybrids, and dual-planar flagships built for maximum resolution. Whether you want energy and impact or a warm, relaxed listen, our planar line reveals the best in this technology, while displaying the impact of acoustic tuning implementation.

Compare the Planar Range

A planar magnetic IEM uses a thin diaphragm driven evenly across its surface by a magnetic field, rather than a cone pushed from one point. This produces fast transients, low distortion, and a distinct planar timbre.
Many planar IEMs benefit from a capable source. A dedicated dongle DAC or portable amp can improve dynamics and control, and some sources shift the tonal character warmer or brighter, so pairing matters for planar designs.
Both use planar technology but present distinct tonal characters. Supermoon is V-shaped, fast, and energetic. Grand Luna adds balanced armatures and acoustic treatment for a warm, lush, and laid-back listen.
Yes. Every planar model is hand-built in Portland, Oregon by a small team, then measured on Audio Precision equipment with strict left-to-right channel matching before it ships.
Astrolith is our dual-planar flagship, using a 14mm planar driver and a 6mm micro-planar driver for full-range resolution. It suits listeners who want an energetic, powerful sound that remains clean, spacious, and articulate.
Yes. Supermoon is available as Supermoon Custom, a custom-fit version molded to your ears. It keeps the same planar driver and voicing while improving isolation and seal for stage and long-session use.
