Litz Wire, Standard

Litz construction across our full cable range, not a single premium tier.

The Technology

What is Litz Wire

Litz (many strands)
Solid core (one strand)

Litz spreads signal across many insulated strands, reducing high-frequency skin effect at the source.

Litz wire is a cable construction method, not a single wire type. Instead of one solid conductor, a Litz cable bundles many individually insulated strands together, each one enameled so it carries signal on its own before rejoining the group. That construction reduces skin effect, the tendency of a signal to crowd toward the outer surface of a thick conductor, which can smear detail and soften transients at higher frequencies.

The result is a cable built to carry a cleaner signal from source to earphone with less signal loss and better resolution across the frequency spectrum. Litz construction is not a specialty option in our cable range. It's the standard we build to, from Pure Copper Litz at the accessible end through Super Smoky Litz and Smoky Litz XL, all the way to Time Stream and Time Link.

Upgrading your cable or changing metal ratios can improve and adjust the sonic presentation of your IEMs.

Upgrade the heart of your listening chain with our collection of IEM cables and cable systems. From the ultra-flexible Time Stream series and modular Time Link IEM Cable System to Super Smoky and Pure Copper Litz options, each design blends premium conductors and robust connectors to deliver better comfort, reliability, and resolution. Pair your favorite cable with Relay DAC/AMP for high-performance 3.5mm and 4.4mm outputs, and unlock the full potential of your in-ears at home or on the go.

Frequently Asked Questions

Upgraded IEM cables can improve durability, ergonomics, and signal integrity. Designs like the Time Stream and Litz cables use high-quality conductors and robust MMCX connections to reduce microphonics and maintain a clean, stable connection between your source and earphones, helping your IEMs perform at their best.
Litz wire bundles many individually insulated conductor strands instead of one solid core. This reduces skin effect at higher frequencies, helping preserve detail and resolution as the signal travels from source to earphone.
Yes. Litz construction is standard across our cable range, from Pure Copper Litz through Time Stream and Time Link. It is not a separate premium tier reserved for our most expensive cables.
Time Stream cables focus on premium materials and multi-conductor designs for enhanced detail and clarity, available in Chromatic and Metal series variants. Time Link is a modular IEM cable system that lets you swap terminations and interface with different sources more flexibly. Litz options like Super Smoky Litz and Pure Copper Litz emphasize classic, musical tuning and comfort with proven litz wire construction.
A Litz cable will not change your earphone's driver or tuning, but a cleaner, lower-resistance signal path can improve resolution and reduce signal loss compared to a stock cable, especially at higher frequencies. Different metal compositions will create subtle sonic changes.
Both are industry-standard IEM cable connectors. MMCX rotates and disconnects with a push-pull motion. 2-pin connectors use two small prongs and a socket. Check your earphone's connector type before ordering.
Many Campfire Audio cables use industry-standard MMCX or 2-pin style connectors and common terminations such as 3.5 mm single-ended and 4.4 mm balanced, so they can work with a wide range of compatible IEMs. Always confirm your earphone’s connector type and your source’s output before choosing a cable or termination option.
A small number of our Time Stream cables offer 2.5mm balanced termination, but the industry and our own lineup are moving toward 4.4mm balanced as the standard for portable balanced output.
Across the range, you’ll find popular terminations including 3.5 mm single-ended and 4.4 mm balanced outputs, plus selected 2.5 mm balanced options on the Time Stream Chromatic Series. Cable lengths and variants vary by model, with many Time Stream and Litz cables offering multiple terminations in each colorway or configuration.
Our base model Time Stream cables offer accessible, premium performance, with high quality, tangle-free jacketing and terminations. Time Link offers increased conductor count and versatility across devices, while our Pure Copper Litz features a microphone for everyday use.
Relay is a premium portable DAC/AMP designed to partner with your IEM cables, offering high-performance digital-to-analog conversion, selectable filters, gain settings, and both 3.5 mm and 4.4 mm outputs. Connect Relay to your source via USB-C, then plug in any compatible cable and earphones to enjoy a cleaner, more powerful listening experience.
