Understanding driver technology
drivers - delivering sound
A driver or transducer in the context of IEMs is essentially a very small or condensed form of speaker. These operate by intaking an electrical signal that manipulates a magnetic field. The fluxuations in the magnetic field create movement in a diaphragm, which then pushes and propels the surrounding air to create soundwaves, re-creating soundwaves captured during recording.
our philosophy
At Campfire Audio, we carefully select and combine driver technologies,d and apply customization and specialized acoustic treatments to highlight their strengths and diminish their weaknesses.
Driver selection is an exhaustive process of experimentation, iteration, and the application of years of IEM design and acoustic engineering.
The appropriate type, quantity, and interactions between drivers are carefully tailored to achieve a desired sound; creating a spectrum of listening experiences and styles.
iem driver configurations
our line
Within each style of driver configuration exists its own spectrum of tuning approaches, form-factors, and overall listening experiences. Some sounds may overlap with, or relate to, an earphone comprised of entirely different components. Our line of high performance earphones provides a range of tools for different applications, allowing listeners to find the perfect, all-in-one sound to suit them, or a range sounds used for different circumstances.
Some earphones may have a 'safer' more widely appealing sound, while others may be more specialized and create a stronger connection with a smaller subset of listeners.
We hope that our approach, variety, creativity, and innovation provide the tools for listeners to forge a closer connection to music and inspire deeper appreciation for old favorites and new discoveries.
